One Response to “obama: might just be normal/rational”
I think about Barack Obama what I think about all politicians. They should be themselves and represent the American public. However, their message is mostly filled with partisan rhetoric and slant, Barack Obama is no exception. 75% of what he talks about is classic class warfare rhetoric and blind Bush-blaming that is neither complete nor 100% accurate.
You caught Barack in a great moment here, but he is a Democrat as much as or more than any other candidate I have ever seen. The Obama campaign is quick to call McCain another “4 years of the same”, but Barack himself ascribes to his old party quite a bit if you truly listen to him. The word change and the blame of all of our country’s problems on the current presidential administration certainly gets people going, but it’s neither complete or far sighted an approach.
That all being said, both parties have great candidates this time around. The Presidential ballot is the best we’ve seen in our lifetimes, and Obama certainly deserves respect. If he is elected, I’m worried about a few things, but then again, if he delivers on some of his finer points, there will be some things I like.
In closing, I personally beleive had McCain been the nominee and subsequently the president in 2000, this would be a different scene. Both parties would not be at each other’s throats. The whole reason for this post is to highlight the fact that Barack his a human and maybe even a good guy. That’s something I can sign up to beleive and talk about. These guys all put their pants on the same as we do every day, whether they want to admit it or not, and Barack admits it.
